Employees of ASLRRA Class II and Class III member railroads are eligible for this award.

For the purposes of this award, a safety professional is a railroad management employee whose job is safety on a full time basis. Examples include head of training, safety manager, director of safety, manager of safety and training, director of safety and compliance, etc. would be considered a safety professional.

Describe the ways the nominee demonstrates excellent communication and motivational skills, particularly in the interest of safety.
Describe how the nominee is able to organize others and bring them together in a unified way to achieve safety goals.
Describe how the nominee demonstrates selflessness in the workplace. In other words, how does the nominee put others, the organization and safety before themselves?
Describe how the nominee consistently produces demonstrable safety achievements as a team leader. Please provide examples.
Please provide examples of the ways the nominee is respected by individuals at all levels across the organization.
Please describe any other traits or characteristics that make this person worthy of winning ASLRRA's Safety Professional of the Year Award.

If this individual is chosen as the Safety Professional of the Year, the individual will be invited to accept the award at the ASLRRA Annual Conference. As the winner, ASLRRA requests they participate in an in-person video interview at the ASLRRA Annual Conference the morning before the first General Session.

The winner will also be asked to provide video and photo images for the production of an award video.
